At a reception at London’s The Gherkin tonight it was announced that MSC’s new ship Bellissima, the sister of the Meraviglia, will be named in Southampton on March 2nd 2019!
At 171,598 GT, Bellissima will be the largest cruise ship to be christened in the UK.
She will also be the first MSC ship to be named in Britain since MSC Poesia was named in Dover ten years ago.
Antonio Paradiso, Managing Director of UK & Ireland told TTG “It is such an opportunity for us and will be an eye-opener for agents for what MSC is all about. My goal is to become the number one international cruise line in this country, and bringing Bellissima here truly shows our commitment to, and faith in, the UK.”
MSC are currently undergoing a huge expansion programme, Bellissima will be the fourth of ten new ships to be launched having been proceeded by MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside in 2017, and the upcoming MSC Seaview in 2018.
