Day 2 – Bruges

This morning we went for breakfast in the MDR and enjoyed a Belgian Waffle with cream and berries. What a treat! Service was a little slow but the waiter advised they were trying to space out orders as the galley was congested. This was probably due to our relatively late arrival meaning most passengers would be eating.

We had a quick look at the buffet and noticed there are ‘English’ breakfast items available. We’ve also been provided with a kettle, Yorkshire tea and Nescafé in our cabin.

After docking the queue for immigration and to leave the ship was very long so we decided to wait for the queue to subside and of course had a couple of drinks to ease the wait 🍾

To get to Bruges we used a local shuttle bus company rather than a ship’s tour, at a cost of €20 each return. The buses are located outside the cruise terminal. This was about half the price of the MSC tour and the transfer took 30 minutes.

We didn’t have major plans for Bruges and therefore just took a 7 mile stroll around the city and enjoyed a couple of Belgian beers whilst taking in the atmosphere.

We headed back to the ship on the 4:30 shuttle and got ready for dinner – French night tonight.

Dinner was lovely, I’ve not taken photos of the food as you’ll find them in my MSC Opera blog MSC Opera menus and food – what I will say is the food is of a consistent quality and tonight’s service was excellent.

We’re sat on deck now waiting to leave the port and have a sea day ahead tomorrow as we make our way onwards to Oslo.

Currently sipping a drink that’s not on the menu – a Limoncello Spritz. The below should let you know if a drinks package is worth it 😍
