After our departure from Bruges on day 2 we made our way to the main dining room for dinner. Our table for 6 in the Golden Lobster restaurant is perhaps a little cramped and the tables are somewhat close together.
Our sea day was very relaxing with a bit of a lay in followed by breakfast in the buffet. MSC are clearly trying to please the British taste with black pudding, ‘proper’ bacon and sausages etc. This to us is a very nice touch and is just a small tweak to a brilliant product and MSC are not becoming a copy cat of other UK cruise lines; they’re still MSC.
A full days schedule included activities such as arts and crafts, dance lessons, quizzes and also a port talk about Oslo.
We enjoyed lunch of a burger with onion rings in the Sports Bar on deck 7. The food in here is complimentary and is freshly cooked to order.
The evening’s suggested dress code was ‘gala’ and as we’d purchased new dinner suits for the amazing christening ceremony of MSC Bellissima we have brought those with us.
Our dinner in the main dining room was excellent quality with plenty of choice available.
Our table mates Sue and Bill from Australia are fantastic to talk to; they’ve recently completed a long cruise with Princess Cruises in order to make their travel to the other side of the world worthwhile. They find that whilst MSC is a completely different product to Princess in terms of the style that the key aspects of accommodation, food, service and entertainment are comparable and due to the international flair an MSC cruise feels like a foreign holiday.
The theatre show in the evening was based around Ghost Busters and featured singers, dancers and acrobats. Prior to the show starting the officers were presented to the audience.
After the show we went to the Safari Lounge on Deck 7 where the animation team were hosting a Queen vs ABBA game: name that tune. I’m thrilled to have won another plastic mug for correctly Knowing Me, Knowing You.
We also got chatting to two ladies who are a guest act appearing tonight in the theatre who are an ABBA tribute. We’re really looking forward to that.
MSC Preziosa is now docked in Oslo and we shall be heading out to explore.
Meals look nice apart from the raw meat which isn’t only pink but red and still oozing blood! Nice to see they do dancing lessons. Do they have deck quoits and shuffleboard too?
