Day 1 – Southampton

We boarded MSC Preziosa just before 2pm and as such we’re too late for lunch in the MDR but had eaten at the pub beforehand. Once onboard we enquires about upgrading our drinks package and have changed from the old All Inclusive to the new Premium, which includes a range of wines by the glass and bottled beer. The cost is €9 per day on top of what we’d already paid plus the 15% service charge, as such it’s best to ensure you book the right package for you before you sail.

There was also some confusion over whether the charge is per day or per night and we were almost charged twice for the first day of the next leg of our journey.

We’re very familiar with the layout of the ship having cruised numerous times on her sisters Fantasia and Splendida.

Our cabin for this part of the journey – 11303- is a Bella balcony over the stern of the ship. The balcony is huge and the cabin itself is spotless with plush red furnishings and carpets.

We decided to eat in the speciality restaurant Eataly last night and use our black card perk of a free meal for two.

Eataly will soon be replaced by the Butchers Cut so I won’t go in to too much detail but it was fabulous! The tiramisu was to die for!

As you’d expect from us we spent the evening enjoying some of the many bars onboard before heading to bed at about midnight.

We did however catch a glimpse of one of the Ghost Busters

We’re now docking in Zeebrugge and will be going in to Bruges shortly.
